Build Your Relationship
Creating Connection.
Couples counseling or marriage therapy, is a type of therapy specifically for couples to help resolve conflicts, improve communication, and strengthen their relationship and the nature of their attachment. Are you struggling with your marraige? We we can help. We've helped hundreds of couples in the Southern Utah area over the last few decades with their relationships. We've helped them work through patterns of conflict, develop connection, heal from infidelity, and all sorts of other things that impact and make marriage difficult. We work with marriages, just like yours every day. We help in a safe and supportive environment that promotes healing. We employ emotionally-focused therapy (EFT) and the Gottman Method in our work with couples.
A Marriage Growing Together.
Couples counseling typically aims to address various relationship issues, such as communication problems, conflicts, trust issues, infidelity, sexual difficulties, and major life transitions. The marriage counseling generally is based on what you bring to the session that is proving painful or difficult. We help you learn and engage in open and honest communication between partners and assist you in understanding each other's perspectives. We help guide you as well into developing healthier ways of relating to one another emotionally, this occurs through Emotionally-Focused Couples Therapy.
During couples counseling sessions, we help you explore the dynamics of the relationship, identify negative patterns or behaviors that contribute to distress, and provide you guidance on improving communication and problem-solving skills. Most of this happens with The Gottman Method of learning. Couples learn to emotionally attend to their partner and learn to dig deep to understand their partners needs and attachment style. We use various therapeutic techniques and interventions tailored to your specific needs.
Who comes to marriage counseling?
Couples counseling can be beneficial for all types of couples, whether married or unmarried, heterosexual or same-sex. All couples and relationships are welcome at our practice. It is important for both partners to be willing to actively participate in the therapy process, be open to self-reflection, and commit to making positive changes in the relationship. Really anyone that wants to grow and build their relationship is welcome in the process. All marriages are unique and that's what makes them difficult yet at the same time beautiful too!
The healing process.
The length of marriage counseling and therapy varies depending on the specific needs and progress of the couple. Some couples may only require a few sessions to address immediate concerns, while others may benefit from more extended therapy. We've seen couples for just a few sessions to clear up a few things, while others are in for many weeks due to more chronic issues or infidelity etc.
We feel strongly that couples and marriage counseling provides a valuable space for the couple to work together with one of our trained counselors to overcome challenges, improve their relationship satisfaction, and build a stronger and healthier partnership.
You can trust us. We take your relationship and it's healing very seriously and are honored to work with couples just like you.
